What else could there possibly be? Well, we touched on sheet references earlier. Do you have items on one sheet that point to a different item on a different sheet? If you do this, then you know that those detail references and sheet references are going to change, and probably more than once. What if we told you that Sheet Set Manager can keep track of all of these type of references too?
This is just an overview of Sheet Set Manager and some of the advantages of using it. Come back here in the following months for detailed tutorials where we dive in deeper and break down the three phases of Sheet Set Manager into easily digestible segments.
We have an amazing time-saver for you this month: action macros. If you use AutoCAD commands and system variables, you can I'm slowly getting into using SSM I'm deep into what you describe as "Phase 2" right now and wanted to find an easy way to manage revisions number, date, description. The only way I've found to so this is through the creation of custom properties e. Thanks - looking forward to Part 2 as I'm sure I have more to learn even on the basic stuff.
If a custom property will never change throughout a set, then it could be created as static text in an xref for example: on the title block. But if there is any chance it might change on a per drawing basis, then a custom property is the way to go. I work as a Sr. I'm also a member of Autodesk Expert Elite, appreciation for individuals who give contribution to Autodesk community.

I have the scale in SSM set up so it will change on individual sheets Via Custom Field, but would like to know if there is any way to set a subset so you could change all the scales of the sheet in that subset?
I do have a scale in the Main SSM, but we do not like to use that since it would change all sheets. I use the sheet set all the time but a problem I have is when I send drawing to client who has no experience with the sheet set.
They always loose the reference to sheet view and sheet number because they move the drawing from one folder to another etc.. Right now I have to manually burst every callout block and view label which is time consuming, do you have a better idea to do this?
Thanks for the vivid explanation! This blog is always my destination to expand my knowledge about Autocad. Hi Richard, Can you tell me in what page of the instruction is missing? You can also try to publish your the exercise after you finish the tutorial. Have you tried that? The instructions are fine. The book came with an incomplete file set. Zip the proper files up and show send me a link. Richard, Thank you for the feedback.
I have updated the dataset file. Is there a company break for engineering department training use? Thanks for letting me know about the missing drawing. I can give special price for them. How many users will use the e-book? Send me an email to [email protected].
Totally agreed with you Edwin. The AutoCAD sheet set is not known to many. But after reading your blog this might be known to many. The use and advantage of the same is very well explained especially the drawing management. I feel the sheet sets would be a more useful tool if it was integrated into project manager on the expanded version of AutoCAD. DST file over and over as a template and never have to make up custom fields again. In this Article Notify of.
Inline Feedbacks. In this blog we look at how you can use Naviate Accelerate tools in a workflow to create type marks or actual dimensions of each structural element.
Many of us have been modelling and detailing reinforcement in Autodesk Revit for several years, some of you may still be using manual 2D solutions such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel. You can now set the properties for all the layouts contained in the Sheet Set as shown below. Enrique graduated with a Master's in Civil Engineering, which covered a wide variety of subjects in the fields of transport, structural analysis, geotechnical design, coastal, water and environmental engineering.
